This book is an exploration of my life and times. It was inspired by my mother's memoir Now and Then which she wrote when she retired, to share her history and story with her family and friends. Due to repeated requests for a copy, a second printing was done as word spread among those who knew her. She thoroughly enjoyed the process of writing the memories of her life because she felt in touch again with those she loved from her past. Reading her memoir informed me of my family history and sparked my interest in discovering more. I read her memoir over and over to feel close to her. I had a request from my cousin, Christy Gladwin to co-write our memoirs and I plunged in to review my life in words. In the process, I discovered a thread running through my family history and throughout my life. I gained greater insight into the meaning of what I had done in my life. I sincerely hope the readers of my family history and my life story become inspired to write and share their family history and their memories.
