How I happened to run the best private party club ever -- a private gentlemens club inviting "voluntary escort style hostesses to meet and date fine gentlemen." 1968 I rented a temporary office for 3 hours to present my club to advert respondents. A millionaire offered to back the club. He rented a 13-room space on Broadway in San Francisco's "North Beach" topless entertainment district. We occupied, furnished, and decorated the club, advertised for members and hostesses, and conducted the first parties between July-December, 1968 when the backer decided, "I don't think the club will work; I think I'll just live here instead." What about all the furnishings? "My money paid for everything; it all belongs to me." By keeping our friendship I was able to arrange many parties over time at his "Persian Palace." The script depicts event-vignettes as I wrote them grouped in 6 time periods beginning in Las Vegas after my family departed the first time. The CLIQUE ("Swingers" couples) 1968-1972 evolved into the FAST LANE club (Gentlemens and guest Hostess "Singles") 1975-2000. "Party Theater" A 2 hour party, everyone upon arrival was greeted and personally introduced to everyone present. We could honestly claim, "More women than men, more attractive than average, and most/all immediately available for dating." I (owner-author) would say, "If I could afford it, I'd join my own club." One hostess arrived for interview. She wore a huge afro, halter, micromini skirt with dingle balls, fishnets, and platform high heels. Asked what she did for a living? "I'm a professor at U.C Berkeley (true); I heard your club was a great place to have fun." The club lasted 32 years and over 2000 parties without a single incident of crime or violence. But, there were two busts, 1983 and 91, both for "suspicion of pimping, pandering, operating a house of prostitution, and running an escort service without a license."
