This story started in 1993 when God began to radically change my heart for the homeless guys hanging out on the sidewalks near where I worked in Oakland, California. He began to shift my judgmental and critical perception of them to seeing them as He did: precious children that He loved unconditionally and beyond measure. That was the beginning of a long journey with the Lord while He prepared and equipped me to start ministering on the streets in Los Angeles' Skid Row in 2012. While this book is about that journey, it's also about the destination.
