My kindergarten teacher in Nigeria was called Mrs. Maclean. She was a middle-aged Caucasian British lady, who started a kindergarten school at her home. One of the first games she taught us was "treasure hunt." She would hide candy pieces everywhere at her luscious garden and leave us clues to find them. If you found any piece, the candy was yours. It was my introduction to "treasure hunting." "Pepper Soup for The Soul Volume 5. Treasures of Zion" is about clues to discovering the treasures of the kingdom of heaven. The word "treasure" is defined as "wealth" e.g. money, jewels, or precious metals, stored up or hoarded, buried treasure. This book takes us on a journey to discovering the hidden treasures of Zion. Matthew 13:44 (NIV), "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field." What are the treasures Zion? Zion is the Church, a body of believers in Christ, who have confessed Jesus as Savior and Lord. The Apostle Paul alluded to this when he prayed for the Church; Ephesians 1:18 (NIV) "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people," The purpose of this book is to shed some light on these riches. The Bible describes them as exceeding, surpassing, incredible and incomparable riches. (Ephesians 3:8). Wow! I am sure you can't wait to find them. I can't too. Let's go!
