A two-phase study on small mammals with particular reference to the Common Treeshrew (Tupaia glis), was conducted at two different floristic zones(Hill/Upper Dipterocarp Forest and Montane Myrtaceous Forest) on Gunung Jerai, an isolated mountain in Kedah, Malaysia. Phase one consisted of a monthly Mark-Recapture study using 100 cage wire traps, spaced 10m apart in a 0.81ha trapping grid on each site. Phase two consisted of a radio-telemetry study on five T. glis individuals on each site. Although this book is in a MSc thesis form, the contents of this book provides new insights on the population dynamics of the common treeshrew and other small mammals in its natural surroundings and is therefore suitable for graduate students, naturalists and ecologists.
