Organizational Ethnography

Ethnography is a branch of anthropology that describes contemporary cultures. Applying organizational ethnography (OE) is essential in practical settings as it helps create an appropriate organizational climate for employees. OE can act as a signal for leaders and employees when negative behaviors emerge. It also plays a crucial role in providing numerous advantages, such as enhancing the organization's ability to face competition and technological progress, identifying strategies to support plan implementation, achieving harmony between employees and leaders, and aligning the work environment with human and societal values. OE serves as a tool for understanding employees' work methods by examining their ideas and beliefs. Additionally, it supports organizations in maximizing the benefits of cultural diversity, fostering a healthy organizational climate, encouraging social interaction among employees, supporting communication channels, and leveraging technological advancements to facilitate work within the organization.
