This book is an autobiographical adventure and a wildly freeing trip that will set you on a path to liberation, although it does not start this way. It has been written for people who have not experienced psychedelics, for those who want to know more about them, and for individuals who want to be free of addiction and all sorts of internal and external struggle.
The author escaped Communist East Germany in his teens and then traveled the world ever since. Once he crossed over to the other side of the wall, to West Germany, he became aware of psychological programs that prevented him from truly being free. That's when he went on a deeper spiritual quest and exploration toward truth, which led to a series of initiatory experiences that took Omananda around the world a few times.
When you read his book, you'll understand the intricacies of political oppression, the dangers and benefits of psychedelics, how to tackle addiction, indigenous spirituality, self-realization, and what to watch out for and avoid on the spiritual journey. You're also set for a fun adventure when you read this multimedia book that has QR codes spread throughout it. These links lead to videos, which gather evidence of the story that builds over a period of three decades. At the end of the book, a comprehensive plan for legalization is presented, which could be integrated into contemporary society and heal the divisions that have separated the people from what really matters.
Common sense, questioning authority, and gathering wisdom through experience are what Omananda suggests in this book. If you have no idea what taking psychedelics and praying with them can be like, this non-fiction book could be a great introduction, but be patient. The real mystical experiences don't start until the second part of the book, and the deeper entheogenic ones don't until the third. We recommend reading this book from the beginning and all the way through to the end. Please don't skip forward in the book, or you might read some things out of context or blow a surprise.
The English is written in a language that could be improved. The author's mother tongue is German. Two professional English editors went over the book, but from Omananda's contemporary English knowledge, it could be a lot better. Nonetheless, the book is out, and there are other books Omananda has published with better English that he's passionate about. Transcendental Journeys is a great story, and we hope you thoroughly enjoy reading it nonetheless.
