The role of information systems in the organizational capabilities

In the new age where organizations, products, relationships and activities and their business in general have taken on a virtual and electronic form and the changes have become so drastic that has minimized the lifespan of technologies and products. Creating and maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage based on traditional and old capabilities and competencies is not enough for the successful presence of the organization in a competitive environment and markets. This requires new measures and the introduction of new competencies based on information and communication systems. Creating and transmitting information and communicating in this way are the most important characteristics of a successful organization in the business environment. Researchers have recently used a resource-based approach to gauge how much information systems can give a company a competitive advantage over competitors.
