At present, Iran is a semi-arid country with an average rainfall of approximately 240 mm per year. Also, for various reasons such as the extent of coastlines (more than 3000 km), excessive exploitation of the sea, low use of existing marine capacities, and development of marine aquaculture and its replacement by capture fisheries activities have been forced the country's decision-makers into the marine aquaculture industry for a decade. The main aims of marine aquaculture in Iran: creating species diversity in the supply of seafood, production of high quality white protein, strengthen the seafood basket, productivity in aquatic production from marine water resources, optimal use of existing capacities at sea, reduce fishing pressure by guiding the fishing community, productive employment and mass production per unit volume and food security / passive defense/resistance economic policy/etc.
