Based on this reflection, the theme of the book was the training of chemistry teachers, and its aim was to analyse how initial and continuing training can contribute to improving the teaching practice of high school chemistry teachers in the Videira region. In order to do this, the importance and role of these professionals as critical transformers of the educational reality was highlighted, as well as current teaching challenges and the curriculum, in addition to the theory/practice relationship, based on the contributions of authors such as Tardif and Pimenta.
