Sociology, teaching and practice in Angola

This book is a collection of texts dealing with teaching, research and associations in sociology in Angola, as well as issues related to the education system, presented in recent years at events organised by sociologists or those aspiring to this profession. There are not many events organised in Angola that reflect on this area of knowledge. It was a challenge and a daring move by sociologists (mostly young and linked to the university education system), who question the situation of sociology in this country and therefore propose that sociology be more valued and assert itself more and more as a science. Linked to teaching, they have not failed to apply the tools of sociology to understand the teaching-learning process in some institutions, as an illustration of how useful sociological research can be in the study of educational phenomena. It is aimed at professionals and students with an interest in sociology and education.
