The question of whether there is a genuine increase in the imbalance of population in communities in India is a topic of considerable debate. To what extent is the Muslim population expanding at an accelerated rate? It is therefore pertinent to inquire whether Muslims will overtake Hindus and become the majority in the near future. Does the Muslim population present a threat to the country's national security? The question thus arises as to whether the objective of the Muslim population is to transform India into a Muslim country. Indeed, right-wing extremist Hindu organizations persist in instilling fear among Hindus by disseminating such rumors. Such organizations have disseminated the notion that Muslims aspire to transform India into a Muslim-majority state. The objective of these groups is to conquer India. However, population growth is associated with factors such as illiteracy and poverty, rather than with any particular religious or spiritual doctrine. The Sachar Committee Report (2005-06) indicates that the Muslim community is socially, economically and educationally disadvantaged and marginalized. The growth rate of the Muslim community is high due to a lack of awareness and the unavailability of health services. As education and awareness increase, the birth rate among Muslim women is decreasing. This book examines the growth of the Muslim population in India.
