The literacy rate is a fundamental indicator for assessing and monitoring educational advancement. The 2011 census reveals that, despite 75 years of independence, the educational situation of the Muslim minority remains unsatisfactory. The literacy rate of the Muslim minority in this country is 59.1 percent, while the national literacy rate is 65.4 percent. A comparison of the literacy rate with all other religiously minority nations revealed that Muslims have the lowest literacy rate and no other minority nation or group in this country has such a poor situation in the field of education (Narula, 2014). The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have the highest literacy rate among Muslims at 89.8%, followed by Kerala at 89.4%. In the major states of the country, such as Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, and Haryana, Muslims are the most disadvantaged in terms of educational outcomes when compared to other religious groups. This section examines the ratio of Muslim attendance at educational institutions and all levels of education, compared to the ratio of attendance of different nationalities in the country. This data illustrates the educational status of the population.

In comparison to other nations, the Muslim literacy rate in this country is less developed in higher education than in basic education. In the contemporary era, higher education has become an indispensable factor for national progress and development. In the 21st century, there is a growing emphasis on the importance of research and specialization, as well as the need for individuals to become economically and professionally strong by developing expertise and advanced skills in technology and science. This book presents a comprehensive analysis of the educational situation of Muslims, contextualized within a statistical framework.
