Comfortable Mind... Healthy Mind If a mind is comfortable then only it is a healthy mind. Our mind is comfortable and healthy only when it doesn't have any unsolved issues. It's impossible for our mind to accept everything. It is not a small child that can be tricked. It asks for reasons. Hence our mind only accepts things which are told to us with reason. Nature of our mind is such that it does not accept anything without reason. You must have said or heard people say "I cannot convince my mind to do this work". This simply means your mind is unclear of the reasons of doing this specific work. Things which you have to do, but your mind doesn't understand why you have to do them, end up causing internal conflicts in your mind. This is uncomfortable and causes restlessness. Our mind does not want restlessness, it wants comfort, fun, peace and happiness. We imagine a comfortable life but although we keep trying but we are not able to lead a fun filled, happy life. We are not even able to enjoy the things we have. However, much money we might have, facilities and luxuries we might have, we might even have physical health and even if we are the sorts who knows how to enjoy, besides all this your mind is continuously haunted by thoughts. Things which are happening the way we want them to, don't make us happy for too long instead our mind concentrates or pays attention to those things only which are not going the way we planned. Basically, our mind is overpowered by unhappiness and is restless. In this book I am talking about those thoughts, those questions which keep overpowering our mind and haunt us! These thoughts are about life, relations and about our own mind. In this book I am trying to show you the sides of the issues which make our life unpleasant and uncomfortable. It's about understanding the feelings. Pretty much everyone knows that life needs to be lead happily and peacefully... and the gyaan(knowledge) of how to do that, is available everywhere! We try to implement this gyaan, we see glimpses of happiness and peace in others' lives. But we are not able to find that for ourself. And we are continuously looking for something to make us happy and peaceful. Mind is pretty much always in internal conflict regarding this. And this is an eternal truth that mind's internal conflicts are a sign of unhealthy mind. Our mental health is our responsibility and our need. What is causing your mind to be in conflict or pain can not be told by someone else. Similarly, no one can know that your mind is comfortable and healthy before you or more than you. In this book we are trying to touch upon those aspects of nature of mind which in form of questions haunt our mind and in turn affect our mental and physical health. We are hoping you are able to connect with the aspects shown in this book. Also hoping you will be able to see the glimpses of usefulness of these aspects in the betterment of your life.
