Dear Miss, I Wish You Knew.

These poems reflect the experiences our youth go through including incarceration, trauma, victims of discrimination and racism as well as the struggles of cultural identity. Every student that has been a part of my teaching world has truly touched my heart and taught me so much about life. The raw conversations my young people have had with me have shaped who I am as person and have impacted my outlook on life. Sometimes children can't tell us what they are really thinking and this book shows some of thinking that I know teenagers wish they could say whilst they are going through some of the most difficult times in their lives.
