This book contains simplified yet crucial, principles of church growth. Patterns can be changed situation to situation, but principles do not change. To understand this relationship, let me remind you of a well-known saying, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." Providing foundational principles of church growth, rather than detailed methods, is crucial since methods effective in one successful church may not be applicable in other churches. The principles appearing in this book can be applied to most, if not all churches, big or small, located in the East or West. This book does not stop with just giving principles. It also attempts to provide practical suggestions for implementing the principles for dynamic growth in your church. Church growth also has some mysterious dimensions that cannot be easily explained. It is a little hard for these to be formalized or regularized into simple principles. Church growth is basically up to God's grace but the grace does not exclude our dedication and best effort.
