Dinner at the House of Odysseus is a standalone episode which is part of a series called Godless Odyssey. Set on the Greek island of Ithaca, the story unfolds during 1175 BCE and focuses on Telemachus, the son of Odysseus and Penelope. Telemachus comes of age ten years after the end of the Second Trojan War. That war had destabilized the economy of Greece. He and his mother face a significant problem that jeopardizes their way of life. Unless Telemachus can drive away his mother's fifteen unwelcome suitors who are eating him out of house and home, he will not be able to restore the economic and emotional well-being of his family and some of his fellow islanders.

Born in Greece to parents who were refugees from Asia Minor, Stratos E. Constantinidis studied the Greek classics at home and later at the Anatolia College of Thessaloniki. He also studied the modern classics at the National University of Athens and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the Greek army. Three years later, he emigrated to America, where he earned a PhD degree from the Department of Communications and Theatre Arts at the University of Iowa. In addition to being a published author, he teaches in the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts at The Ohio State University.
