Not Quite Revenge

Tabitha the Gentle, daughter of Tallulah the Demon Killer, is tortured and murdered not far from her home. When her body is found by her cousin Abrintha, their daughters swear a vow of vengeance and leave for the Glade of Steeds before Tabitha's body is long in the ground.

But, to have their revenge, they must first learn to fight. And the best fighters they know are the barbarians that live north of their Civilized Lands. So, armed with only a coldly burning anger and their loyal familiars - Kidt the fox and Tut the llama, they demand instruction in fighting from the closest clan of barbarians.

Their journey takes them through the northern lands and even to a strange place called 'Virginia, ' and they find out that revenge isn't quite as cut and dried as they thought. Sometimes, revenge brings a deeper sadness.
