How do two people at cross-purposes bring down a multi-million dollar research and development center? Not without fireworks...

Suffering with selective mutism, Del Thibodeaux lives her life under a microscope, a pincushion for the Edenedge Foundation Genetic Testing Center, run by her mother. Hoping to find her sister, she plots and executes a daring escape. Lukas Bloom is trained to serve the Foundation and his next mission is to retrieve Del. When she begins speaking to only him, he begins to question his amnesia, the odd scars on his body, and ultimately, his loyalty to the Foundation.

Forced together, Lukas and Del embark on a cross-country race to the coast. They find they are more connected than either first believed, and when Lukas's father finds them, his heritage as Grigori is revealed. As Del falls for her captor and he realizes he's been living a lie, can she convince him to become and ally and save them both?
