From Exposure to Evolution is a continuation of Courtney's story as he fought to overcome the addiction of alcohol, struggles of religion, battling the education system of the seventies and eighties, and the difficulties of growing up within the Black family.
His story serves to let the younger generation know that the life they see before them is not the way that life always has to be. Throughout his life, he came to understand the value of reading, studying other cultures and religions, coming to understand what it means to evolve, and the importance of self-improvement and personal development.
