Cracking the Chest

The words of a human experience born outside of traditions, alienated from culture, and yet awoken to heritage and ancestry from depths within. How does one go about making sense of one's interior world when such elements of inquiry get them both hunted and abut them against the edges of nearly losing themselves? This work is the honest and raw culmination of imperfectly doing so. Of having collapsed inward but finding inspiration and reason to begin anew. From the tension ridden landscape of the Pacific Northeast Rim, a European American's journey through surviving fires endured for reclaiming sovereign storytelling. In doing so, the expressions birthed from an organic relearning of inheritance threads rich in such similar struggles and even richer in traditions with teachings for how to overcome heart breaking adversity in an unwell world. A poetic release of poisons from such an aftermath and a setting for intentions and medicine for remembering to want to relate again.
