MIMOSA ROAD is tale of two young women, two cultures, and a shadow world where people who offend Life President Mobutu Sese Seko disappear.

In Kinshasa, Zaire, 1974-1975, a privileged expat and a Zairian in a simple village become friends as they find different ways to resist the mindless brutality of Mobutu. Each struggles to survive and to protect their young children, while seeking justice in a post-colonial world that invents its own truth. The world bewilders and terrifies, yet moves each to face her fears and confront the oppression. Their stories unfold and raise issues relevant to our time and place.
