Wounds can be an enigma.

Every one takes a different shape, holds a different weight, and leaves its own internal impression. Sometimes so deep, that the one who is inflicted can't even see just how much pain they are in. Some wounds scab over quickly, while others require further attention. And some must be dug into, so that that which is causing infection, may be removed. In her very first book, Nicole E. Wicks lays her wounds out in the form of words so that she may identify where they came from. So that she may finally let them heal.

Can You Hear Me Screaming is a collection of poems and thoughts written over the course of two years in solitude, due to sickness. It is a journey filled with despair, a battle between the body and the mind, heartbreak, courage, faith, and love. Nicole does her best to convey what it is like to be a human who longs to embrace the beauty of the Spirit, while still being flesh.
