With her boyfriend, Mike, off to fulfill his two-week summertime commitment to the Army Reserves, Melanie and her best friend, Nikki, take a trip of their own - to the beautiful Lakes Region of central New Hampshire.

But the hoped-for chance for the two girls to "meet some guys, have a little hot and steamy fun with them, then kiss them goodbye and return home," turns into a nightmare when Nikki meets a guy and disappears with him, leaving Mel alone and miserable as rain storms pound the area for days.
