Successful football player Dustin Wells left heartbreak and his small town life far behind him, but when an injury sees him benched just in time for his ten year high school reunion, the back-in-the-day Prom King decides the only way he can face going home is with a girlfriend by his side - even if she's fictional.

Former Prom Queen Veronica Shaw has lived happily in Red Pine Ridge all her life, heading up the committee organizing a weekend's worth of activities celebrating the graduating class of ten-years-past. When she realises this weekend's festivities are going to place her squarely in the orbit of her ex true love she's determined to show him just how much better off they are without one another, even if she has to conjure up a make-believe boyfriend to do it.
