I am a no-number, a zero. I call myself Dell, but my name is unrecorded. I've always been hidden, sheltered in the outlands of the Town. Now my guardians are gone, transformed and reassigned, and I belong nowhere.
I am young. I want to be loved, to be touched. Is there anyone in the Town like me?
If the Town accepts and transforms me, I'll live forever, but I know what forever is like for my guardians. If I am transformed, I will no longer be me.
I am Dell, Dell Zero, untransformed and mortal. I must choose my way.
