Mardi Gras Ripper

Is a descendant of Jack the Ripper of London terrorizing New Orleans before Mardi Gras or is it just a copycat serial killer? A young Jewish rookie detective in New York is sent down to NOLA to assist with his comprehensive knowledge of that famous case. The detectives main clue is in the form of a multi-symbol brand applied to all his victims. They need to figure out how all the symbols relate to each other to discover the killer's motivation and stop the carnage.
