The End of the E-Ticket Ride

Sleep has been hard to come by lately. I keep reflecting on my life and trying to remember or figure out how I got here. I'm now living such a long way from home - home being Southern California. I haven't been home in over 24 years so is that even still home? I guess home can be anywhere you want it to be and in my heart home will always be in SoCal, even if for now, Jaco, Costa Rica is home. It's taken me over 24 years to accept this is now home, but reality is what it is.
I've lived and gone through so much in my 64 years on this earth - it's time to put my story to paper and maybe this journey will not only help me but others as well. I've lived through so much and done so many things that sometimes it's all surreal. I should have died so many times but I'm still here. There's got to be a reason for it right? Maybe telling my story will help me figure out what that reason is.

Lately I've been on a physical and mental improvement journey, and I find myself tweeting about it daily almost each day I have someone comment about how I'm inspiring them. Imagine that - me inspiring someone. Who would've ever thought that an ex-addict and alcoholic could inspire anyone - yet, here we are.

Oh, you might be wondering why an E-Ticket ... well back when I was a kid growing up in Southern California and we'd go to Disneyland, you didn't just buy a day pass, you would pay for your entrance fee and get given a book of ride tickets, they were lettered A through E. The A tickets were for the smaller rides, no big deal, but the E tickets - now those were the prime tickets and were for the best rides in the park. Hence why I decided that my life was an E-Ticket ride, which is what I've always used to describe something that was a hella ride! So, let's start this E-Ticket ride.
