Confessions of a High School Teacher

Confessions of a High School Teacher
You don't want Mr. Smalls to be your child's teacher.
Twenty years of teaching high school has taken its toll. His only interest is fantasizing about the teenage girls in his class and wishing he was 17 again. His students are even less interested in school than Smalls, which leads to free-for-all classroom discussions.
Life is falling apart for Billy Smalls. New school Principal "Ms. Something-Hispanic" delivers long-tenured teacher Smalls his first poor evaluation ("needs improvement") in his career. His thoughts focus on regret on becoming a teacher, fearing he has wasted what could have been, though he is not exactly sure what could have been. Meanwhile his wife, Valerie, intimates their role-playing fantasy days are over.
But, Smalls learns the evaluation comes with no consequences ("it goes in your file") and he discovers his favorite student may have her own fantasies about Mr. Smalls. The normally meek Mr. Smalls suddenly finds his voice and his stride and lets loose on the ridiculousness and hypocrisy of the public school system. His usual under-the-breath snarky comments to teacher friends JayHawk and Singleton become voiced at full volume disrupting staff meetings as Smalls dares to introduce logic into the illogical world of public education.
O'Maolin takes the reader through a satirical, near farcical, trip through the world of the public education system. Staff Meetings, Individual Education Meetings, Parent meetings, the Homecoming Carnival, the big Football Game, Prom, and Graduation, all as you've never seen them before in a ridiculous school no one wants their children to attend.
