Kan Bri Yo Laj: Li Te Rati

This book is a celebration of Haitian Creole-a language born of resilience, forged in the fires of slavery, and nurtured by the indomitable spirit of a people. It is an exploration of its history, its diverse variations, and its poetic beauty as a vibrant and living testament to Haiti's identity. Through its words, I aim to showcase the soul of a nation, reflecting both its light and its shadows.

Woven into this narrative are verses of poetry that trace Haiti's history, from the triumph of its revolution to the complexities of its independence, steeped in the mystique of Vodou. It also tells my personal story-a journey of grief, self-discovery, and connection, intertwined with the language that has been my voice and refuge. It also introduces Bal?, a poetic form I have created, blending fixed and free styles to express the dualities of structure and freedom This book is a tribute to the richness of Haitian culture, the power of words, and the enduring cry to free the Haitian Nation, Black Nations. It also talks about love and beauty of women.
