Dedication

I dedicate this book, which I wrote a few days before an unprecedented flood hit the state of Rio Grande do Sul in May 2024, to the victims and thousands of families who lost everything or almost everything, in which I include myself.
The beach of Paquet?, starting point for this story, was one of many affected places.
Gradually, however, and with the effort of each one, life is resuming its normal course.

Adventure with learning

In addition to the adventure lived by the creative student, the story addresses topics such as love for animals, the taste for studies and reading, environment and recycling. The reader will find data on Cabral and his ships, Galileo Galilei and the moons of Jupiter, the Sun, nautical terms, etc.
On this trip, Cassio passes through tourist spots such as the Paquet? beach in Canoas, the Gas?metro plant and the Porto Alegre Public Market, until he reaches the Molhes da Barra, in the city of Rio Grande.

Synopsis

Cassio lived in front of the beach of Paquet? since the family moved to Canoas. One night, he woke up with a strange noise coming from the river of Bells, but did not see anything different when looking out the window.
The following morning, the noises were accompanied by mysterious flashes. Jumping out of bed quickly, the 12-year-old boy noticed something was going up the river. However, the moon and stars covered by dense clouds made it difficult to identify.
On returning from school, remembering Galileo Galilei, he created a telescope with cardboard and glasses. On the same night, he came across a caravel similar to that used by Cabral in his discovery of Brazil.
Without the parents notice, jumped out of the window and approached the beach. When he made contact with the captain of the caravel, Cassius did not yet imagine the adventures that would live before dawn.
