If time travel is possible, where are the tourists from the future? Second Temple tells the story of a shrewd investor from Rio de Janeiro who hires an attractive adviser from Luxembourg to help him avoid bankruptcy. Suddenly, that issue becomes secondary compared to what happens to them. They are transported to a world that is both strange and familiar, and full of surprises. The struggle for survival is inherent to the human condition and can take various forms, from making risky bets in the 21st-century financial markets to the harsh and uncertain daily quest for food, shelter, and physical safety that prevailed throughout most of our history.
