Broken Bridges

This memoir is about speaking my truth. Broken Bridges is about being born into a family, and receiving the meaning of family, while those around me did not. Some spoke the words, "blood is thicker than water", but didn't live it. Some spoke the words, 'family over everything' but you would think they were voo-doo'ed because the hate, disrespect and absent-mindedness became ungodly. As you will read, my grandparents were a huge blessing in my journey, and I'll be forever grateful. You will also find that I encountered many obstacles with bonds that I thought would last forever, but after hearing from "The Voice", I realized sugar coating is not my thing. It never was and I don't plan on doing it again because I have found peace. As I started to share with others, I found out there were so many more just like me. We have experienced broken bridges and it's time that we speak the truth on what is broken and build new bridges for ourselves, our children and our future.
