Amina fled to Tuscany from Egypt to escape the growing prejudice and hostility in her homeland. For generations, the women in her family have passed down the knowledge of medicinal plants and magical arts-good witches, but witches nonetheless. To continue pursuing her passion for herbal remedies, she takes a job on a farm in Maremma, where her path crosses with Vanni's. An immediate attraction sparks between them, yet both carry burdens that prevent them from fully opening up and surrendering to their feelings for one another. But the past isn't the only obstacle for Amina, who faces prejudice, hostility, and the threat of a local witch unwilling to welcome her into her territory.
