There are many benefits of Sensory stories. They provide adults and young people who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Complex needs and Autism to experience a story through their senses. Each short narrative is partnered, through guides to an action, an activity to convey the meaning. They provide a person with sensory stimuli and an opportunity to move their body. The most important aspect of a sensory story however is the sharing of it.

To share a sensory story with emotion, feeling and authenticity is a fantastic opportunity to connect with adults and young people who have complex needs. It is an opportunity to get to know the people you work with. It is an opportunity to "hang out" together, "have fun". It is an opportunity to "change someone's life".
