Three Years in the Making

Writing a novel and getting it published are tall orders, especially for Mark, who struggles with singleness and OCD. But he is determined to drive his ambitious project through to completion, even if it's taking him longer than he first thought it would. Part of the delay is due to his life situation: he has no partner, housemate, or even friends close by to help him with personal maintenance, home upkeep, caring for his pet Labrador, or attending to his ailing parents on the other side of the country. All responsibility falls on him, and this burden causes Mark to doubt himself often, veer off course, and sometimes feel overwhelmed. Meanwhile, he still has to stay healthy and fit and attempt to date, just to feel as though he hasn't given up on the social part of life. Unfortunate events and betrayals by friends try his faith, yet he won't surrender to despair. He keeps at it, but will all his effort pay off in the long run? Will he complete his creative writing project, seeing it all the way to official publication, and be proud of it?
