Imagine that there is a School of Drama that has given itself entirely to the Study of the Playwright William Shakespeare. Imagine they come across a lost play hidden for hundreds of years. As they read the script, they realize the play has five scenes, but scene 4 is missing. Given their immense study of Shakespeare, given that they have the first three scenes and scene five, they can probably guess how the missing 4th scene would read.

Our lives are being lived out in the missing 4th scene. We have a treasure of redemptive history in the scriptures. This fantastic genre of Prophetic literature gives us a glimpse into the future. It is our job to discover how we ought to live in the present.
