Cross and Thorn

Sixteen-year old foster teen, Dakota Cross, faces the greatest challenge of her life as she tries to escape a potential murder charge for a crime she didn't commit. In the town of Victory Hill, Dakota has mostly had to fend for herself. With a half-shaved scalp and tomboy attire, as well as being introverted and guarded, she does not look like the "traditional" teenage girl, according to the biased residents of this small town. Dakota's foster mom makes her attend Victory Hill Church where judgmental eyes are everywhere, especially the eyes of Pastor Elias Thorn.
Thinking she doesn't have a chance to beat the murder charges, Dakota decides to go on the run. Dakota has one ally to help her escape the crime scene, the youth pastor, Jake Hollis, also a former foster kid. After a year of getting to know her and understanding how the people of Victory Hill have treated Dakota, he decides to help her while he tries to find the real killer. With the help of his foster brother, Dylan, Jake investigates Elias Thorn's past, which leads to a surprising twist that changes Dakota's life forever. Together, Dakota and Jake search for answers. Dakota's decision to confront Pastor Thorn puts her life in danger in a way she never expected.
