Meet Alice, a cool 6-year-old girl from Aotearoa New Zealand. She loves her country and her family so much! Alice teaches us about something called "aroha," which means love in the language of the Māori people.

Alice shows us how she loves using her body by climbing trees, running, and riding her bike. She also loves feeling things with her body, like patting her cats and swimming in cool water. Alice's eyes help her see exciting things like books and stars, while her ears hear the birds sing and her friends talk.

Alice loves the beautiful smells of flowers, biscuits, and perfume. She also loves the delicious tastes of ice cream, apricots, and salmon bagels. Yum! In Aotearoa, there are special festivals like Matariki, Christmas, and Easter where people share delicious food with love.

This story encourages children to do, feel, see, smell, taste and love like Alice.

Alice tells us about Jesus, who was kind and loving to everyone. He taught us to love each other, especially other children whose bodies can't do all she can do. At Christmas, we remember when Jesus was born, and at Easter, we think about how Jesus showed us love until the end of his life.

Before saying goodnight, Alice reminds us to rest well so we can wake up happy and ready to love again.

About the Author

Marilyn follows a Christian Path, with love of the natural world central to her spirituality.

A grandmother, Marilyn wants her grandchildren and all children to value this world and enjoy it as much as they can, with the ability that they have.

For this reason, royalties from sale of this book will be donated to M?decins Sans Fronti?res who work tirelessly throughout the world, in crisis situations, to mend broken bodies, many of whom are children.

Marilyn also enjoys other spiritual perspectives, including Yoga, and Sufi Dances for Universal Peace. She has attended a Buddhist silent retreat.

She loves reading the poetry of Rumi, Kabir and others. They all, along with Christianity, espouse unity and love. Oh that the world would listen!
