Sarge is an old German Shepherd who was rescued in East Asia where there are no animal welfare laws. He was suffering from some medical conditions which were challenging to treat. Being old and frail, he joined a pack of six other dogs. These dogs range in age from young to mature, are different breeds, colors, and come from different places around the world. They all warmly welcomed him into the pack. Children enter this world free from prejudice; bias is learned. Sarge Finds His Place exemplifies that it does not matter where we come from, or what color we are; we really have more similarities than differences. It would be wonderful, in today's world, if children were encouraged to embrace, and respect each other's differences as well as the similarities.
