Necessary Evil: The Consignment

Hope is waning for Deputy Sheriff Curt Grear. Trapped in a strange world where science has been forsaken for the pursuit of magic, he finds himself tracking a stolen consignment of U.S. military weapons and ammunition.

With the help of the forest witch Sarshia Tamsin, he's managed to recruit a ragtag team and free two U.S. soldiers, but the odds are heavily against them. With their success hinging on the guidance of the seemingly deranged dark sorceress Adraca Mur and an enigmatic unicorn, things aren't looking good.

The future of Sarshia's world is at stake, and Curt's only hope of getting home is to track down the consignment and wrench it from the grasp of the Northern Empire before the weapons can be deployed. The Northern Emperor must then be prevented from ever doing this again. The unicorn's dark solution to that end will be the final endeavor in the series of questionable actions Curt has been forced to carry out to keep them all alive.

They have one chance to accomplish their mission and none of them are prepared for what they'll have to do in order to complete it.
