It Hurts Growing Up: (Life Grazed Me, My Change Made Me!)

When l was young I thought I knew it all, but I come to learn that only a fool thinks that way. Everything changes for the good or bad, you're either in a state of Growth or Decay, but believe it's going to keep progressing either way. The law of the Universe, what you give it, it'll return to you with interest. I had to learn that the hard way. If God watches over children and fools then God was my greatest babysitter.

I didn't wake up incarcerated, it was a process of my bad thinking that I had to.unlearn. I had a somewhat normal childhood, but the neighborhood I was raised in was tough and sometimes only the strong prevailed. I was being misguided mentally, by what I was witnessing in my neighborhood. I'm not saying, I seen it all and done it all, but I seen enough to know that what I was witnessing was wrong.

Incarceration was needed for me, God took the mittens off and smacked me with a dose of reality. I had to learn how to starve that enemy (Inner-Me), and once I did that, the hurdles for positive progress became smaller. I wish I could say, that it was mentally easy getting here, it wasn't, but it made my life better. IT HURTS GROWING UP!
