Mother-daughter relationships are complex.That is something we can all agree to. I believe there is so much love and care underneath all the nuance and actions. And yet sometimes, that love gets buried in the undercurrent of daily actions and words.

My hope with this book is to shed light on a complex relationship. One of love and hope as well as strain and pain. I believe that I am not alone in the idea that mothers can wound us deeply and sometimes irrevocably.

If I can help another person feel less alone in their pain and find solace in these words, I have accomplished what I set out to do.
