The purpose of these narratives has been to summarize the historical events that took place on the African continent, in the course of our Cuban revolutionary process in the decades of the sixties, seventies and eighties of the twentieth century and the leading role assumed by the Cuban internationalist combatants in those transcendental moments of the struggle of the African peoples for their liberation from colonialism. imperialism and apartheid.
In its pages are recounted the participation of Cuban internationalists in Algeria in 1963; in the Congo Leopoldville, Zaire, in 1965 -under the command of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara-; in Guinea Bissau in the early seventies and in Angola from its independence in 1975 to 1991. The work itself acquires a greater historical value, due to the nature of its stories in which unpublished testimonies of the protagonists are summarized in a few lines.
Likewise, of each of the countries in which the Cuban internationalists participated, a brief historical account of the political-military situation of the same is made, to provide the reader with the background of the struggle against colonialism, imperialism and Apartheid that the natives of those territories sustained, before the arrival of the Cuban internationalists.
