Courage of the Heart

For the past few years, life for Elizabeth seems to go on without her any wiser. The war took so much from her. Death seemed to follow her no matter where she turned. She lost everyone except for her mother's sister, Aunt Julie, a widow of many years. Aunt Julie's health is declining and she wishes to see Elizabeth married again. However, ever since Elizabeth lost her husband to the war, her heart has been in pieces. Plus, many men who have returned from the war are not eligible.

Colonel Brandon Tate has returned to Natchez with two goals in mind: court Elizabeth Davis and find out who is after his inheritance. He has loved her since they were children. The mysterious gentleman attempting to buy the Tate Plantation continues to plague Brandon even after he has returned to claim his inheritance.
