There are a multitude of events that could be considered a person's turning point in life: the birth of a child, relationships, marriage, homicide, divorces, health issues, new jobs, moving to a new location, wars, and the list goes on, and on. The one event that is not reversible is the death of a child. It's incomprehensible that a child should die before a parent. It's not the natural order, or the way it should be. Out of the Shadow and Into the Light is the story about a mother's love for her children, her grief, and healing after the loss of her two sons. Clara Murrels found power in writing down her thoughts and feelings about working through the pain and sorrow of first losing her eldest son Paul in a car accident, and then ten years later losing her son Frankie to cancer. She relies heavily on her faith in God, as well as her supportive husband, three daughters, other family members and friends, all of whom helped her get through her unbearable sorrow. Another form of therapy for Clara is writing poetry, which is included in this book, as are some of her favorite Bible passages. Clara hopes that her story will help others begin to heal after the loss of a loved one.
