That Good Night is a cubist depiction of death and death care because they're viewed from multiple perspectives. That Good Night will take readers on a guided tour of death and death care from time immemorial to the present day. The book will also illuminate the tangled evolution of funerary rites in the United States from the earliest Puritans to contemporary "green funerals." Death care is inextricably bound to the religious or theological beliefs of a society, and intracultural and intercultural funerals will be examined through the lens of peoples' mores and sacred beliefs. Finally, That Good Night will attempt to lift a corner of the veil separating life and death.
