Birds Without Bees is an explorative poetry book on both the internal and external conflicts of a college student. Forced to leave the nest, in a brand-new city, Madison Barnes encounters other birds, and bees, that permanently change the way she thinks. Madison integrates structure, rhyme, and free verse into her poems, often ending her truthful stories with a hard-hitting line. Birds Without Bees is an encapsulation of the college experience, an empowering voice for breakups, and an evaluation of the modern world from the perspective of a fledgling.
