Greg Lake moved to the small town of Brookston, Wyoming two years ago after leaving the marines and deciding that city life wasn't for him anymore. Neither is letting anyone new get close enough for it to hurt when he loses them. But despite that, he can't seem to stop looking at Rachel Bauer, the beautiful preschool teacher.

Rachel Bauer grew up in Brookston, Wyoming. Everyone knows the difficult childhood she had and she loves the community she has around her. But that doesn't mean she lets many people get that close. Very few realize her sunshine exterior she displays while working with preschoolers, or even with the customers at her second job, is just a cover for the hurt and angry teen she once was. She's not her anymore. She's a strong, independent woman who works two jobs, not for the money, but to keep busy and because she loves what she does.
