Book Reviews:

"The Daze of Love and Glory" is writing of passion and depth. It has a wonderful family-centered theme. It's a true battle of the sexes. We loved the struggling love affair and a Moby Dick style hunt of the black captain for an elusive gun. We loved it and plan to make it the book of the month." --- Clyburn Book Club.

"An impressive novel, "The Daze of Love and Glory." Praise to Mr. F.R. Burnett for giving his black hero and heroine true-to-life form in first and second commands on a warship. An awkward romance and massive gun battles that destroy everything but their love for each other. There has never been and probably never will be a captain and officers and crew like onboard the USS Colored Ship. A daring and stunning work of fiction. It was fun to read." --- City Park Review.

A tour de force in saving a wayward marriage. She wants the million dollars for having children for her Aunt Congresswoman "Mama" Pinot more than for her husband. He wants his name in the history books as a black civil rights icon more than a family. He's tracking down his enemy in an elusive chase to win his glory. She pursues him to see things her way and leave the Navy with seductive deceit. Their compromise opens their eyes to a new meaning of love and marriage. A timeless story for our time or anytime. Hooray for "The Daze of Love and Glory l!" --- J. Z. Fan.

"He loves his woman, but he loves his glory seeking more, until the truth about his self-serving mission is revealed. Her mercenary love and his hopeless glory seeking are misplaced emotions. They get their lessons in real love and true glory in a battle with a super gun on a doomed warship in hell and high water, but like good and evil, war and peace, and love and hate they will coexist in heaven and hell. The "Daze of Love and Glory" is the best all-around romance, adventure, and war story that I have read in a long time." --- Jim Lee Poet, playwright.
